TCRNo12

Summary

Thanks to the diligent work of our race volunteers, the riders' own records and accounts, and careful analysis from the Lost Dot team, a fair picture of the race has been compiled in numbers. We're pleased to present the final results of TCRNo12.

‍

In total, riders travelled 1.42 million kilometres – from the shores of the North Sea in Trondheim to the southern edge of Europe in Kalamata. Finishers averaged 4915KM each, making TCRNo12 the longest edition to date.

‍

This year we celebrated 55 FLINTA riders on the start line, and we'll continue campaigning for greater FLINTA participation until we reach our goal of 100.

‍

Another year of advocating for sustainable racing led to another increase in riders opting for flight-free travel. Our Green Leaderboard celebrates the 121 riders who made the challenging journey to and from the race overland. Between them, they saved an estimated 42,154 kg of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

‍

Of the 397 riders who set off, 55% reached Kalamata. Of those who arrived, 162 received a General Classification finish and 26 finished outside GC, giving us 188 official finishers. Thirty-one riders were disqualified for prolonged time on banned roads. After adjudication, our overall finish rate stands at 47%.

‍

This year, the number of disqualifications was higher than in any previous edition. From our discussions with these riders post-race, we don't doubt that these mistakes were accidental rather than an attempt to gain a racing advantage – but rider safety is non-negotiable for us, and a firm line on compliance is what keeps the race safe for everyone. We continue to take feedback from riders and work hard behind the scenes to sharpen our focus on safety with every edition.

‍

Congratulations to all the riders who started, to those who pushed themselves further than they thought possible, and to everyone who exceeded their own expectations.
