As we entered a new decade of The Transcontinental Race, we introduced a new and prestigious award: the Points Classification.
The title is awarded to the General Classification (GC) rider with the lowest cumulative time along the parcours of each edition of the race(excluding the start parcours for safety). First introduced for TCRNo11, the winner of this classification is celebrated alongside the existing General Classification and Green Leaderboard Classification winners, and is awarded an orange Albion jersey at the finish line.
The winner of this classification will likely not be the fastest rider along the whole route; this could be for the climbers, the gravel specialists, or the aspiring GC hopeful who oversleeps their alarm and is forced to recalibrate their expectations.
The classification is for those who love to race. Invoking the spirit of riding hard for nothing but the joy of personal endeavour. This is the original essence of the very first bike races, the reason many of us removed our stabilisers, set off into the bold unknown, and find ourselves where we are today.
For this reason, the Maglia Arancia will be dedicated to celebrating our fallen riders who experienced this same joy and are no longer with us. In the past two years we have lost TCR riders Max Riese, Mohit Kohli, Andre Bachman, Pierluigi Talamona and Christine Kammerer, but this jersey is also for Mike, for Frank, and for every cyclist who lost their lives doing what we all love.

We salute you all. Through this jersey we will remember you all, and the sweat which falls on the ground across Europe in your name will help nourish the ground from which, one day, the green shoots of a safer world for all cyclists will sprout.
